CEI Foundation Board of Trustees
Overview
The CEI Foundation is critical to the success and fiscal well-being of the Center for Elders’ Independence (CEI) and the services CEI provides to East Bay seniors with complex medical conditions through its Program for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) programs. The PACE interdisciplinary team approach is considered by many to be the “gold standard” of care.
The CEI Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and 509(a)(3) type 1 classification as a “supporting foundation” so, all proceeds raised are for the direct benefit of CEI’s mission.
Trustees are expected to embrace the “Triple A Board” model of volunteer engagement that promotes being an Ambassador, engaging in Advocacy and Asking for support (financial and otherwise) on behalf of the CEI Foundation all of which redounds to the benefit of CEI and those it serves. To these ends, Trustees will work closely with CEI Foundation staff and CEI representatives to achieve stated goals and elevate the mission of CEI in the community.
There is an expectation each Trustee will donate or solicit an amount equal or greater to $3,500 each fiscal year in which they serve. This amount is a combination of direct cash donations, recruited sponsorships for events, purchased tickets for events (directly and by identified guests), in-kind items assessed at fair market value, and grants from corporations, foundations, and/or donor advised funds.
Trustees create awareness about the CEI Foundation and generate support for the mission of CEI as donors and with outreach to others. Individuals become Trustees because they display interest in elder care, demonstrate leadership abilities, possess energy and enthusiasm, engage in community activities and exhibit an ability and willingness to involve others, including individuals, foundations and corporations interested in sustaining the CEI Foundation with philanthropic support.
